Thank You Card

Today I decided to play along with Hand Stamped Sentiments and participate in their sketch challenge #156. I made a "Thank You" card using one of my favorite word stamp sets, Sassy Salutations! It's very simple...easy to do during Spring Break.  Here's the recipe and thanks for looking!

Simple Birthday Card

It has been way too long since I have had a post, but I have been doing many craft projects.  I'll try to get them all posted soon.  I have been being inspired by Teresa Collins and Heidi Swapp lately.  They have been sharing lots of cute books and projects.

This is just a simple, but pretty card that I made for my mom's birthday.  This was inspired by Teresa Collins.  From her last MyCraftChannel.com video, she gave away some phrases on her website.  I used a piece of paper from her Carolina Breeze line.  I added a little bling to the card as well.  Very simple and quick.

One other project I have been working on the last few weeks is a bulletin board announcement for a play that my daughter will be in in May.  Pulled out a few scrapbooking items for this project.

October Stamp Club Projects

The monthly stamp club I am in met last weekend, and I am just now getting a chance to post pictures of the three cards we made.  We made a Thanksgiving card using a sweet treat cup.  It was so easy, and really looks like a turkey!

For the next card, we did a little embossing on the background piece, then added a few butterflies, bling, and scalloped ribbon for a nice "hello" card.

Our last card is for Christmas, and I love Christmas projects!  This card itself was very simple, with one small stamp piece.  But, we added a magnetic bookmark over the card for an extra surprise for the recipient.  I have the tag die we used to make the bookmark, and I can see using this for some cute gifts for my children's classmates!  They all love to read, and now that they are in chapter books, they need something to mark their place!!

I always look forward to my stamp club once a month!  Good company and great crafting!

 

Halloween Slider Cards

Being the first Sunday of the month, the stamp club that I am a member of met today.  We did 3 great card projects, and I will try to get those posted later this week.  They are so cute, especially a Thanksgiving turkey one!

As I said the other day, we have been doing alot of Halloween crafting around here.  The other day, www.splitcoaststampers.com had the cutest Halloween slider card using the SU sweet treat cups.  I have used these cups with several projects for the kids' classmates in the past, but I just loved how they used the slider (similar look as a bookmark) to keep the recepient from having to tear up the card to get to the candy.  This first picture is my copy-cat version.  The splitcoaststampers version used a different stamp set that had witch's boots, and it was really cute.  I don't have that set, so I had to make do.

The paper and ribbon are from SU.  I used a brad on the slider, but opted for ribbon on the other two.

I love making owls, so I wanted to try one on this card type.  I used the brown M&M's, but I think orange would have still been cute.  Again, the paper, stamp, and ribbon are from SU, but the owl is from the Pumpkin Carvings cartridge.  I used my Gypsy to only cut out the owl (the entire image is an owl on a tree limb in an oval).  I will show you how I used this owl for wall decor later this week.

I think this last one is my favorite of the three.  I just love pumpkins.  The pumpkin was cut from the Pumpkin Carving cartridge and DCWV paper.  The other paper, ribbon, and stamp are from SU.  This sweet treat cup contains orange Skittles for my allergy boy!  Then I remembered that he doesn't like the orange ones!  Too bad, because they look good for the card, so that's what we have to use.

My Pink Stamper Christmas Card Challenge

I'd like to share a Christmas card that I made as part My Pink Stamper's Christmas Card Challenge for today.

The paper and ribbon are all from Stampin' Up.  I cut the Chrstmas tree from the Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridge.  The "merry wishes" stamp is from the SU set "Lots of Thoughts".  I wanted to keep this card simple, but thought it need a little something, so I used the SU punch along the bottom of the vanilla paper.

Little Birdie Card

I made this card for a friend of mine that is recovering from surgery.  I wanted a sweet bird to put on the card, and found one in the Cupcake Wrappers cartridge.  I used a stamp from My Pink Stamper.  The paper and ribbon are from Stampin' Up.  I wanted to use patterned paper on the bird, so I chose a piece from the SU set "Beyond the Garden".  By the way, SU is running a great special on patterned paper right now.  It's buy 3, get one FREE!  I took advantage of this during my monthly stamp club.  So, I hope to test out my new patterns with more projects soon!

I hope my friend does get better soon!    

Butterfly Pedi!

Wow!  Has it been a busy week?!?  Two of the three children started back to school last week.  The youngest doesn't start for a few more weeks, so he and I have been getting use to the new routine with the older two at school!  Early mornings!!

The week before school started, Emilee and I went for pedicures.  We wanted to have black and white zebra print for our toes!  Emilee even got to have them on her fingernails as well.  It was fun!  Emilee sat in the special butterfly chair.

So now for a card to match our fun day.  I chose a butterfly from the Cupcake Wrapper cartridge.  This will make a cute cupcake topper in the future, but for now it works on my card.  We also had to use pink and the black and white zebra print in honor of our pedis!  For the top portion of the card, I used an embossing plate with polka dots and my Big Shot.  The stamp is from My Pink Stamper.  Hope you like!

August Stamp Club Projects

I am part of a Stamp Club that meets once a month.  Our leader is a Stampin' Up demonstrator, and she is GREAT!  We learn so much, and get to do fun projects.  Plus, once a month, one of us gets to be a hostess and get great benefits from Stampin' Up!  I am going to share some of our projects with you.  None of these are my own designs, but I have made them from her instruction.  I'm not sharing all of the projects yet because I will probably be using some for gifts!!  Let me know if you are interested in Stampin' Up and I will be happy to hook you up with my demonstrator.

Here's the first project...

Can you believe there is not a single stamp on this project?!??!  We used an embossing folding to make the flowers, and then added color with pastels.  Really easy.  Something else that I liked on this project was the baker's twine.  They sell this for like $2.95 a pack, and you get quite alot.  I will be getting some for myself soon!

Christmas for the second card...





We made this card with a Christmas stamp set and stamped on the card and envelope.  You can't tell from this picture, but we used dimensionals on the hat and the snowball at the bottom.  I liked using the 4 different types of paper around the edge of the stamped image.  This was a fun card to make!

Gumball Machine

I wanted to share the cutest craft that my daughter made during a fun afternoon with the children at church.  Our children's director came up with the neatest idea for them.  They made gumball machines using flower pots, a glass bowl, and a wooden ball.  Can't you see so many possibilities for this during the different holidays?
Emilee's is just the cutest and all girly!  It fits her perfectly and will look great in her room!  What a fun activity!

This inspired me to create a card using the "Just Because" Cards cartridge.  The jar in the cartridge booklet actually contains gumdrops, but I made gumballs instead.  The card is cut at 5", but I cut the gumball (gumdrop) container at 6".  The paper, ink, and punch are from Stampin' Up.  I used a My Pink Stamper stamp from the Sweetest Cupcakes set.  Thanks for looking!

Money Card

My nephew's birthday is today, and like many children, he wants MONEY!  So, that's what we got him, along with a lamp to go in his newly decorated bedroom.  We wanted to make him a nice money card, so I went to my Wild Card cartridge for ideas.  We decided on the All In One card that you get when entering -shift.  I used red cardstock and Stampin' Up's Celebrations paper for the liner.  The card was cut at a height of a little over 6".  Then, we decided to go with a beach theme for the front flap, as this is the design for his room.  Using the Car Decals cartridge, we chose a jumping dolphin and a pair of flip flops.  Perfect for him!  To finish it off, we used the "Happy Birthday" stamp from My Pink Stamper's Sweetest Cupcakes set and black ink.

He liked it so much, he wanted to use it as a wallet!  Hmmm, ideas for another project. ;-)

Hootie Hoot Card

I think little owls on craft projects are so cute.  I recently got the Cricut Lite cartridge "Hoot 'n' Holler" because there are about 20 different owl scenes that you can make.  These owls aren't just for the fall, but you can use bright colors and make them fit into any of your projects.  I have put just one on the card I posted today.  I used Stampin' Up paper and ribbon, but the stamp used comes from one of my new favorite stamp lines, My Pink Stamper.  The set is "Everyday Life".  BUT, she has one with the cutest animal sayings sets that I have to have.  When I get it, I will do a new project for you just to share the stamp set!
